And it looks to me like the car has had at least one complete repaint in base/clear. Does not look like 52 year old acrylic lacquer to me.

Sold for $80K.
Did we ever get any verification as to the legitimacy of the engine date and VIN stamps? |

If you look at the dash VIN it looks to be pitted, the the dash panel has been replaced which I assume was due to rust. I have not inspected this car but the paint is not I would typically find on original paint including the stripes. There are other things that look replaced/reproduction on the interior. Engine compartment looks restored based on finishes and engine repainted. To really conclude anything you'd really need to have the car inspected.
