Thanks Bill, sent you a PM with information on the car. I know it's a long-shot, but maybe someone will remember it (I think red 435 cars are hard to forget).

Car was silver for a duration in the 1970s and 80s, here is how it appears today.

Thought i'd bump this again as my girlfriend was looking as the file of 1970's pictures and notes on the car and took interest in us finding out more on its history. I will try to scan and post the "Day 2" pics of the car this weekend.

This is chassis #8858 and it is a real red 435 delivered with 2 tops, redlines, F41, shoulder belts, off road exhaust, and full tint. Leather and side exhaust added by later owners.

Was silver with air shocks on it and a small block under hood as soon as 1977, possibly sooner, when it surfaced in a Detroit-area trader mag.

It took me an absurd amount of time to get these old pics scanned and the "rest of the story" together.

The known history picks up in spring 1977 when the car was offered for sale by either first or second owner, residing in Northville, MI. Name of this individual is unknown. Car was advertised in either Trading Times or Detroit News. Oswald and Donald Bollella looked at the car, and while deciding whether to purchase, it sold to another individual. Donald saw same car near Dearborn, at a shop getting the side exhaust installed (original N11 car) and inquired about the owner. The new owner's wife was not happy with the car because it was impractical, and the Bollellas were able to purchase the car (2 weeks after it was originally offered in the Trading Times or Detroit News) for $7200(Northville owner had sold it for $6800-6900).

The owner that had the car for 2 weeks may have worked at Village Ford on Michigan Ave. between Outer Drive and Telegraph.

The Bollellas had done a fair amount of work on the car, including changing the black vinyl iterior to leather and replacing the bumpers.

The car sold to Kenneth Zurek in 1982, remaining in the Dearborn area. Photos below date to this time frame. Ken owned the car for many years, before sending it to D&B Corvettes in Ohio for restoration (frame off) to original red/black livery and installation of a correct L-71 engine.

Car sold in 2004 to a collector in PA who continued to improve it with addition of correct details and dated parts.

I bought it in 2011 and brought it back to Chicago, undertaking a complete mechanical refresh. It now resides less than 20 miles from the selling dealer, Jack Douglass.
