Default 69 Nova SS hood questions

I need a replacement hood for my 1969 SS Nova. I have already been through an older (new in the box) Goodmark hood that was terrible. I have a chance at a 1973-74 hood. I'm being told this hood will work and the only difference is the front hood lip moulding. Will the 68-72 moulding attach with no problem and is the overall underside hood bracing the same as the 68-72? I still want to install the hood louvers correctly. I have the small rear additional hood louver back braces on order, that are only on ss hoods.
Asside from this if anyone could suggest an aftermarket manufacturer of a decent steel hood I would appreciate it.

Thanks, Rick

I wouldn't use a 73 or 74 hood for it won't look right when looking from the front. There would be a big gap between the front lip and top of the grill.Stick with the 68-72 hood for the right look.

Is dii an aftermarket company? If not what do you think of Classic, Year One, etc. for an aftermarket hood?

Thanks, Rick

A good used hood is preferrable if you can find one that doesn't have the stress divit about 3/4s of the way back from the front where there is no underhood bracing. They tend to tweak there due to repeated opening over the years, or tight hinges. It is a difficult fix depending on your skill level with body work.

Don't use a '73/4 hood, it will overhang the grill because of the lip molding area.

Use an original if possible.

Thanks Guys,
After the bad Goodmark hood and a recent Craigs list hood with louvers in the wrong spot and some cut bracing, I found a perfect 1969 hood for an excellent price.

Thanks, Rick
