This sentence in the article is not correct.
" In East St. Louis, Illinois, Harrell undertook the conversion of approximately 106 Camaros to 427 power for Mr. Yenko. " From what I can tell, Harrell did about 25 to 30 of the Yenko 427 Super Camaro conversions. Yenko did the early SS350 to 427 Super Camaro conversions and the remainder of the SS396 to 427 conversions. |

6 vins were found for early SS350 conversions with Yenko Stock numbers YS-6xx
The number for 1967 Yenko 427 Super Camaros that was used by Vince E for many years is 54 I believe these 54 were all SS396 conversions with Yenko Stock numbers YS-7xx |

Did they convert the heater box on the SS350 cars?

A gentlemen on FB was telling me that he had a factory 427 '68 Chevelle. When I told him there were none made from the factory, he said he had a build sheet. I asked him if he could share a copy but no response.

From what I can tell,
they used the SS350 frame mounts, cross member, heater core/box, and other SB parts The factory BB is offset forward and to the pass side so the new location required different cross member, heater core/box , shifter rods & mount, fan shroud, etc. The BB will fit in the SB location but the exhaust manifold will hit the steering box. Yenko used headers so that was not an issue |
