Default 73 Ambassador Police Car

When was the last time you saw one of these??

Very cool. Old 1973 AMC Ambassador 401. Restored Cleveland, Ohio PD car. The Impact Unit was established to deter crime in high crime areas of the city and consisted of 120 guys. Very cool history on this car. The interior is flawless. The computer is an actual one from the era. Cleveland was one of the first departments in the country to have computers in police cars. These cars were fast but had issues braking quickly. The color is citron green which was a color picked by the federal government for the Cleveland cars designed for high visibility.

The slogan on the door, Our men serve all men, had to be removed in 1974 due to female officers on the job assigned to patrol cars. Very politically incorrect by today's standards LOL..

Question Police Car...

Interesting car...very cool and well preserved. Curious about the choice for the shotgun...I would have thought a pump-action model would have been standard for law enforcement ??

Tom, that is a Remington Model 10 pump action 12 gauge shotgun in the car. It is real..

Default Shotgun...

https://www.google.com/search?q=remi...xC4TWIKYEA8FM:

Thanks for the update...it still looks like an auto-loader to me. I can't see what's behind the bracket...but the fore-stock looks like an auto.

Post Shotgun...

I believe the shotgun is an old Remington Model 11. Here’s a related article:

Wow, was I WRONG about the shotgun. Thanks so much for the clarification. I was just going by what the retired CPD Officer that restored the entire car and installed the shotgun in the car told me.

I definitely correct him and let him know he was wrong and to take a closer look at that shotgun. Sorry I am not a shotgun expert.
