I bought some at Lowe’s in Calgary, it is window foam sealing tape, comes in rolls, & different thicknesses.

EVERY 1st gen I have taken apart has had a narrow foam strip about half as wide as the weatherstrip channel and it is kind of "goooo-ey".
My research indicates the original is a polyurethane impregnated foam seal... I have seen NOS pieces for sale in the past and it looks nearly identical to the set up I have used in restorations and is shown below. I used a open cell foam and then took a paint brush and coated polyurethane sealer into it then applied. It seals well with no wind leakage. FWIW 2nd gens used a black foam the width of the trim much like shown above. PHOTO

My LA built 68 had that. My Norwood car had different. Maybe they had a couple of different suppliers...Joe
