Amazingly Loaded '69 396 Kingswood Wagon
Pretty cool - I don't see an option this car wasn't ordered with. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a mess.
Was the washer level monitor option actually offered in 1969? Oddly, this car has it. Link to 1969 Kingswood Wagon auction 166469J137485 |

That roof is a body man's nightmare.

Totally agree, can't imagine tackling that.

My folks had a dark green/woodgrain 427/TH400 Kingswood Estate Wagon back in the day so I'd love to have one of these eventually but the roof and distance would be a deal breaker for me. I've never seen one with buckets seats, cool old wagon for sure.

He added the washer level monitor and is keeping it.
He added the steering wheel too. |

And I'd bet the farm it did not have bucket seats from the factory, either. He's basing that WAG on the fact that it has the punch-out for the floor shifter cable in the trans hump. Probably just a goof-up at the Fisher Body plant. If it had had buckets & console, it would not have had the shift quadrant in the dashboard, which is still present in this car.

Looking at the size of the pillars, would it actually be that difficult to weld a donor roof on in place of the damaged one? I would think that any skilled bodyman who has the capability of installing quarters on a car could handle this. It is a cool old wagon. I guess I'm a sucker for anything with hidden headlights.

It would be a good parts car if they'd knock about $7500 off the price. Part of its current 'appeal' (if you will....) is its appearance with the redlines & rally wheels.....which do NOT come with the car.
