Cool luch table talk.....

Had lunch w/ 2 guys who hadn't seen each other for quite a few years. Talk turned to cars rather quickly as they both had hot iron back in the day. One gentleman had ordered a dark blue, white interior 425hp 409 4spd Impala back in 63 and when it came in the factory had painted it the wrong color! Came in silver w/ a white interior. He didn't want it at first but after popping the hood and seeing all the chrome he said "yep, I'll take it". He didn't have it long as he was just getting into farming and asked the selling dealer to buy it back. They wouldn't take it back "with that big motor in it" so he yanked the 409 and replaced it w/ a 283!
In 67 he headed south to Canonsburg and bought a blue 67 427 Vette from Yenko Chevrolet! He said that there were 3 427 Vette's sitting in a row - a white one w/ side pipes, a red one w/ side pipes and his blue one that didn't have side pipes. He wished afterward that he had gotten one of the side pipe cars. He ended up wrecking the car but it did survive. He later traded his sister the vette for her 65 442. Some time after her ownership it showed up w/ a 355 and side pipes.
It was cool listening to all the stories of different cars that ran around my area.
