Re: 68 yenko camaro 396 mv suffix engine
Supposedly the same short block - as MQ
But the copo cars had a special trim tag and we believe the stamp MV was solely for tracking purposes for the 68 COPO.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: L78racer</div><div class="ubbcode-body">why the different suffix? same everything as MQ L78?
could it have been that if after one of these MV's got sold by the dealership, that law enforcement could determine that it was not a stolen engine if found in say a '55 Chevy that was under their radar? </div></div> I don't think that was the reason, I believe they were coded differently for 'export' with a special carb as part of the 'Excalibur' project...

Marlin,
I never heard of the Excalibur project - tell me more yes the export makes sense as it went with the so called export trim tag......

Re: 68 yenko camaro 396 mv suffix engine
I had also heard that the carbs were different and if I am not mistaken this would be the way a different carb would be allowed in stock class racing by sanctioning bodies.
