This has been an incredible well documented preservation. I’m going to have to view it again in its entirety on a big screen, the pocket phone doesn’t grab it. Thanks Bill W . for taking the time to photograph and explain each step.

With this thread booted to the top, it's appropriate to update.

MCACN 2022, with Jeff Helms incredible Real Day 2 L88 race car in tow thanks to an NOS hitch and a tow bar.

Recent additions are NOS F70x14 bias-ply white letter tires on vintage Keystone 14x7 wheels.

That Craftsman tool box and tools were my Christmas gift 1964. - Bill W

Default Xt-120

Those Remington XT-120 Belted tires were the tire to have back in my day. Hadn’t seen any in a long time.

I'd be happy to explain this Bill! I furnished this image for one of Dale Macintosh's books.

The grille on the bottom is found on all '67 Chevelle trim levels and El Camino EXCEPT SS396 coupe, convertible, and Concours wagon.

The top grille is SS396, note the open slots on the ends, a few more bars blacked out, and no pierced slots for the top center emblem.

The center grille is Concours wagon only. Note the open slots and extra blackout like SS396, but has pierced slots to mount the top center grille emblem.

So the Concours grille is essentially a Super Sport grille with top center slots added and unique to that model only.

Great info!
Are top and middle grilles exactly the same other than emblem piercing…specifically, where vertical/horizontal bars meet is just paint differences as top example only w/ fully black vert’ bars?

Yes Pete, the top and center grilles are exactly the same except for emblem piercing. My example in that pic has that discrepancy, good catch!

Also, original grilles will have this stamp to the right of center. "D"=day shift, "N"= night shift.
