Default 63 Fuelie Corvette numbers

Hey guys,

How's this stamp look? I'm going to be buying a 63 Vette, Silver blue, that's a Fuelie car. Inner fender holes are there, intake port on rad support, big tach and oil pressure gauge, and date stamp of motor along with VIN match up. Like most, no fuelie parts remain.

Does that pad look ok? Seems ok to me and proper RF stamp too. Thoughts?

Cheers
Dave

Yes! A Dave thread on a '63 Vette! I was suffering from a little Crusty Cuda withdrawal.

Hahaha! Yes! Looks like this one is coming to TX. Verified a fuelie by the owner, last owner, and the telltale signs.

Of course the whole Rochester contraption is missing....

But this looks like a job for MCACN 2021!!!

More to come...

Cheers

I'd like to see a better pic. But, judging by what I can see. The dates line up for later June car (last VIN produced in June is 18524). It looks like the type of characters that are typical. The closest original motored car I have pics of is a LATE 62 340hp.

Coupe or roadster?

It's a silver blue roadster, but had a repaint in what I think may be a 67 color. Here's a pic. More info to follow...

Also the engine date stamp.

Cheers
Dave

----Good going, Dave! Color looks close to 65 Nassau Blue, but that is also similar to 67 Marina Blue. Car looks nice, but we all know we will see a lot more pics (can't wait). Tell me about the KOs. It would be such a cool thing if they were real even though they weren't available on 63s. They really make the car even if they are repops. Nice top which are pretty costly and a bitch to get looking wrinkle free. Numbers look OK, but it appears as though someone got just a bit aggressive cleaning up the pad. Congrats!!!.....Bill S

So, it looks like car #17835 with engine cast E 13 3 (May 13,'63) and assembly stamped by Flint 06 06 (June 6). Characters look OK to me, but the pad surface isn't a gimme with obvious broach marks. Agree with Bill that something has worked the pad surface a bit much.

Per Noland Adams database published in his "Complete Corvette Restoration and Technical Guide Vol. 2", cars produced just prior in this timeframe include :
#17304 with a stamp F0605RE / casting date E 27 3
#17511 with a stamp F0422RF / casting date D 15 3
#17652 with a stamp F0610RE / casting date E 23 3
#17691 with a stamp F0606RF / casting date E 17 3

Whoops. Here’s that stamp and owner confirms that E133 stamp.

So what’s that mean, Tom? Are those cars known Fuelies? And more importantly, does anyone have any fuelie parts for a 63 they don't need?

Cheers
Dave
