1964 Corvette Coupe Fuel Injected
I recently had purchased this 64 injected coupe. It's a lifelong southern CA car then spent the last 40+ years sitting at (or behind) a Corvette shop in Paramount, CA.
Obviously, it has seen better days. It is a wonderfully solid car. Unhit body, original black on black car, with most of it's original mechanical components (one cylinder head and rear diff, expansion tank, alternator, and starter have been replaced) These are some pics before I got it home......... |

I've already done the brakes, and now I'm getting after the drivetrain to refresh that. I'll replace all of the wiring, heater core, bushings (as necessary), and then drive the crap out of this thing. I am not doing one cosmetic improvement! This may prove to be the most enjoyable car I have had

I put the correct 6.70-15's on the car for the "look". Pulled the fuel unit to send that out for rebuilding and hot testing before I screw that on a fresh rebuild......

Killer 64. I love the fact that it was at the beginning of when Chevy started stamping the vin# on the fuel units. I believe it was right around VIN# 14,000 that they started doing this. The early stamps were in the front of the plenium after that it was on the right rear like the 1965 fuellys. Great Stuff!!! |

Got after the 64 again today starting to get things tore down some more (waiting for parts on another car).
The infamous wire pigtail in the port witness mark.... What looks to be the original water pump? If I remember correctly, there was a period in time they were not dated? Glad I elected to just take it apart..... Junk original radiator..... I suspect this is a bit outdated. Ironically, for the car last registered in 77, this alarm is dated 1982 Last edited by napa68; 01-06-2021 at 04:52 PM. |

Love it Tim-congrats!!
I wonder-Could this be the same car that was in a fenced area off of Valley View Rd in Stanton, Ca. 1978-79? I worked in high school as a night delivery manager for the Orange County Register newspaper from 2am to 6am-and the building was right next door. The same guy also had a 1957 Belair Fuelie and some other cool cars. Hmmm...
