Default 1995 Yamaha WR250

1995 Yamaha WR250

Selling with NO RESERVE on Bring a Trailer. View the auction here.

This spectacular 1995 Yamaha WR250 Custom motocross motorcycle has been fully restored to show quality standards throughout. It's truly rolling artwork and will make a great addition to any collection. The WR250 model and YZ250 model are very similar. The WR250 was engineered to be better suited for trail racing, desert racing and longer distance off-road racing. The “WR” stands for Wide-Ratio gear box. First gear is lower and the ratios start lower through fourth, the jump up to fifth gear passes up the YZ and gives the WR a higher top speed. Some other differences include a larger fuel tank for longer distance racing, a 38mm carburetor for smoother power range and suspension with its own valving setup which is more suited for trails than for the track.

This 29-year old 1995 Yamaha WR250 is an outstanding example of a seldom-seen model on the vintage restored market. It was the product of a meticulous restoration by expert John Chang of Moto Scrub located in California. This no expense spared build is fully documented on a You Tube video. It was completed on August 22, 2022 with only 0.2 hours run time on the new Hardline Products hour meter. As the build sticker on the front forks indicates it was built for rider Ryan Peterson. The entire frame was stripped and powder coated blue. The frame was outfitted with new IMS Pro-Series foot pegs and a new Devol aluminum frame guard. The original two-stroke 249cc engine was completely rebuilt with new OEM parts. This engine was rated with 49.8hp from the factory. It's equipped with new VForce reeds by Moto Tassinari. The original Mikoni VM38SS 38mm carburetor and 5-speed transmission were completely gone through. The engine is liquid cooled and has new Devol aluminum radiator guards. The engine breathes through a new FMF Gold Series Fatty pipe which is carbon steel with a nickel plated finish for durability. The pipe is attached to a new FMF Turbinecore 2 spark arrestor. The seat has new foam and black cover. The original fuel tank was cleaned and reused. It was outfitted with all new UFO plastics and miscellaneous decals which are removable. It's equipped with new Pro Taper handlebars, pad and soft grips. The handlebars are setup with a combination of a Scotts and Ohlins steering stabilizer. The Cycra blue hand guards match the blue front fender. It rolls on new Takasago Excel blue wheels with restored hubs. The wheels are wrapped with new Dunlop Geomax tires which are 80-100-21 on the front and 120-90-18 on the rear. It's equipped with new Vortex spockets, DID 520 gold chain and carbon fiber chain saver. The suspension has an OEM stack. The front forks and rear shock were setup with new Race Tech Gold valves. The front forks have white plastic covers and seal savers. It was setup with all new single disc brakes throughout. It's equipped with a factory kick stand. A new Factory Effex Yamaha stand is included. This is a great opportunity! From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
