[/ QUOTE ]Boy was he FAST in Modified/Comp Eliminator in the late 70 early 80's in a corvette I believe. Can't remember without looking if it was an E, F and G/Gas car or Modified Production or even D/A class. Remember Jerry Ault and the Ault and James corvette, Tony Christian and even Albert Clarke and Don Koonce. All corvettes at one point!

Jerry was big into those screaming 288's in heavily weighted little cars. It was nothing for him to have 500 pounds of "crossmembers" somewhere toward the rear of the car. Here's a picture of his last Corvette at the old airport/dragstrip Suffolk Virginia.

Somewhere between the 55 Chevy and the 63 Vette, he bought my 57 Corvette and turned it into a 3500 pound gasser. He was racing it at a Division 3 Indy points meet when the car ahead blew an engine and oiled the track. He got into the oil, went sideways, full throttle into the guard rail at half track. Don't have any pictures of the 57 Vette when he raced it.
