Default Delco Y89 Battery, NOS, Perfect

I have had this stored away for some time, and never did anything with it as I had intended (was going to be a show battery for my '69 Z but I sold that in 2008). I see another NOS battery for sale on Ebay for $799, and it's been there for some time, so how about $375 plus the ride for this perfect one.

Believe this is correct for late production '69 Z/28 and Super Sport Chevelle, and into the '70 model year, and possibly others.

Thanks sYc!

It did use the Y77. The Y89 is what I believe to be one of the replacements for the Y77 and may have been a production line battery for later/different models? The Y77 had two different size terminals. The Y89 is a standard 3/8-16 terminal size battery. The negative battery cable or bolt had to be changed when the Y77 was no longer available. I think the Y89 came out around 1974? The Y77 was a one year only battery. Very rare.

also believe the Y87 was another replacement for the Y77. Again uses both 3/8 terminals.

Seems to me that the Y87 was a different physical size battery but I may be wrong on that.

well the Y87 has a length of 9" height of 7-1/2 x 7" wide . Is the Y89 the same?

I believe the Y55 was replaced with Y77 later in the year. Also R59 was replaced by the R79 later in the year.

Delco Dimensional Group Sizes: The Y-77 and Y-87 were Group 72 where as the Y-79 and Y-89 were Group 74. See chart for all battery specs...
