Default speedo cable routing

Hi everyone. what is the correct way to route the speedo cable on a 70? Kansas car. above or below trans? I have mine above but don't think that is correct

does it go in a clip on the trans or just the body clip? I'm not sure if I have the one on the floor board

In most cases you will have two clips on the floor. I believe the location somewhat depends on the manufacturing plant and transmission type. The bracket that mounts on the transmission to bellhousing bolt was not used on the LS6. The first photo is where the Leeds plant (same as your car) attached the clips on an M22 car. The second is the bracket that was used in 69 per Chris White.
