Default 67 L79 CHEVELLE question

I just picked up a 67 Chevelle 300 sedan I would like to clone into an L79 car. I have 90% of the correct parts to do this. I have 2 questions. One is what valve covers did this car run originally? 67 Z style chrome Chevrolet script covers or chrome 327 style covers? Also I am almost sure it is suppose to have an open element air cleaner. Not the dual snorkle as the earlier cars did. Any input is very much appreciated

Thanks
Matt

For what it is worth the May '01 MCR has a feature on an L79 Malibu. Had the script covers and open element air cleaner.
