Default Water into Wine

It is in the Bible... but the scientists at DOE Argonne just turned water and Co2 into Ethanol.

Water + CO2 = sparkling water
That + their magic copper/carbon catalyst + electrical field = ethanol

Was @ Argonne yesterday and to say they are excited about this would be an understatement.
Huge respect for all those involved.

exciting news - also, not a political rant - just today's new reality. Look at the development team. Mostly Chinese Americans. Unfortunately, most American young people in our country just don't choose to study the sciences any more.

What?? I retired from the DOE operations after 34 years and it is diverse and full of talent, people of all races cultures and creeds. We never looked at race and our teams were talented. We were all Americans.

Fact: Every counterintelligence briefing I got for the last 10 years identified China and others as the number #1 risk for theft of research and development.

The American idea brings the world's best and brightest to these shores always has and always will.

We are all immigrants.

LOL - look at the authors and contributors! So, you know that they are all citizens?.... or maybe other country's brightest?? I'm simply stating a fact Phil - our public education system doesn't emphasize the sciences enough. It's not a criticism of immigrants - it's a criticism of us. Saying the truth isn't politically correct these days, but let's face it - our young people are generally less well educated than prior generations. primary education in inner cities in particular is a national disgrace. Platitudes may make some feel better, but when you see how many Chinese students we have allowed into our research institutions - you have to wonder if those counterintelligence briefings had any effect. Our research $$ fund a pipeline of innovation directly to China.
