Default Chevy points distributor RFI shield all models?

Did Chevy install these distributor points RFI shields on all models back in the 1960s -70s era? Or were these only installed on the Corvettes? I have a 72 Nova, would this one come with the RFI point shield from the factory back then?

Default Chevy points distributor RFI shields all models?

Chevy started using them in the distributors when the radio antenna was installed into the windshield as part of the windshield assy (to reduce RFI or static) vs. a separate antenna on the fender or quarter panel. It should be used on radio equipped cars. Don.

70 Camaro's I think were the first to have them.
Goes along with what the Undertaker says, but I never knew that was the reason but it makes sense.

Some late production '69 Z/28s were built with the 1112003 distributor. It had an RFI shield.

Check a vehicles Assembly manual & Chassis Service manual too to see if it's in their diagrams.
