I think my ordering only one as a tire for my spare may have caused the delay.

I was going to install a set of FR60x15 Wide Oval radials on my '72 Trans Am. Car still has a half worn original bias wide oval in the trunk for a spare. My car is a driver not a show car. I do not show my cars.. I drive them. I refuse to pay over $2000 for a set of tires that will probably rot off the car before I wear them out. I have an account with a tire wholesaler and installed a set of 60 series Mastercrafts for less than the price of one wide oval. I do have a set of redline Wide Oval radials on the GTO and a set of white letter Wide Oval radials on the Chevelle... but they weren't $2000 a set either. If the FR60x15 Wide Oval radials were $1500 or less for a set... I would buy them.

I am going with modern radials with a thin white sidewall stripe, and the total cost for four is less than $100 more than the cost of 1 reproduction Firestone Wide Oval red line radial.

I am of the feeling that the price of the tires are well in relationship to the value of the cars. Good parts do not come cheap.

I'll also add Rusty is an asset to the hobby

I use to be in the BF Goodrich camp until the sidewalls started turning brown several years ago. I've bought my last two sets of Goodyear repro tires off Rusty and couldn't be happier. Yeah, they cost more but they look fabulous and it's another detail that adds to the car in my opinion.
