Seems to be. but engine and trans long gone...Hardly any original parts. I'm sure i can't find all of the right parts to finish the car

Kool find, looks to be an RS as well. It will be a labor of love, for someone. You can find all of the correct parts, but this is one where even if the car is free, it just may not add up?

With it's rarity, it would be a shame if it isn't saved, but I agree with your thoughts.

That trim tag does not look like it was on that car from day 1. You can see some of the code 26 Mulsanne Blue coming through on the tag, but I suspect you would not find evidence of original Mulsanne Blue paint on that particular body.

There is blue over spray visible in the photo of the dash on the front edge of the pass door - although it's still not on the body.
Did L78's have the gas pedal which attached to the floor like the Z28's?

A little late posting here... This was car was also posted over on NastyZ.
Yes it is an L78 and would be a shame to see it scrapped out but in reality it would cost more to restore than it would be worth in the end. Especially since the original motor & trans are gone. Besides the motor & trans, it's virtually impossible to find a BB fan shroud and original BB radiators are extinct! The way I see it, about the only way to break even or possibly make any money on this car would be to do a resto-mod with modern drivetrain and do most of the work yourself.
