Congrats Diego! Sorry about the ankle, I feel your pain.
Also, the '62 "slant 4" is a cool bit of history all by itself.
Is that the original paint?

I agree. I had the engine rebuilt to the higher output specification, simply a compression bump to 10.1:1 and a 4 barrel intake. I also converted it over to EFI for easier starting/better drivability for my mother. She had one as a teenager around 1970/71 and always wanted another one to replace it.

Regarding the paint, there is ample evidence that the car has been repainted at one point in the past. There is overspray on the weatherstripping/paint chipping in the door jams. I would suspect it was repainted in the late 70s/early 80s.
