I would think they would have a lot of documentation photos of the second restoration if they had collected all the original parts including both cars

The first time I saw this car was in 2005 at the Mecum auction near Chicago when it was sold as a part of Keith Hutson's Yenko collection. It was represented as a low mileage car with an older restoration. Steve Schultz bought the collection and all five cars were displayed at the Gilmore Auto Museum for a period of time. The next time I saw this car was at the Fall 2011 auction at Auburn where I took the pictures that are on my Supercar Photographs thread. It was at that time I noticed the trim tag showed it was an X66 car which I thought was strange since it was an 03B car with a body number of NOR219743. The car did have the X66 trim with the blacked out tail panel at that time which I thought only the 01B cars had. The car has been at a number of Mecum auctions since I saw it in Auburn and I show that it sold at Mecum in Dallas in both 2013 and 2017. In comparing the photos I have from 2011 to the photos on the Mecum website for Kissimmee it looks like the same car although it has been freshened up some. Particularly under the hood. I don't know who owns this car now or what happened to the race car that supposedly had the same hidden VIN that Tommy T. owned back in 2007. It would be cool if the old race car was actually restored and reunited with it's original VIN tag.

So this car IS a rebody? Sounds like the original Yenko body was a race car and "all pertinent components were reunited", but NOT on the original Yenko body shell from 1969.

And to those who are not only smarter than me, but actually have info on this. WHAT would happen if the ORIGINAL YENKO RACE CAR BODY gets found, restored and comes to light? What happens to the guy who owns this car? Who gets ownership of the covenant YS9637 title?

I would not buy it...................I would highly suspect the "Original body" will never be re-united....

Hidden VIN's trump the VIN tag. It happened here in PA many years ago, I was mere days away from being called as a witness to a lawsuit between two cars - one had the hidden VIN's and orig TT, the other car had restamped hidden VIN's, restamped TT and orig VIN tag. It was a messy situation, but in the end the rightful owner got his orig VIN tag back after the PA State Police physically removed it from the fake car, and unfortunately the fake car owner had to absorb the loss due to no fault of his own.... Sad, but true.

Marlin, that's what I thought would or should happen. Sucks for the fake car owner but it is what it is. BUT I guess the guy with the fake would have "just cause" to get his $$$ back from who he got the car from, and so on down the line? Like a chain-reaction car crash. Once the people who were in-line start sueing the previous owner, it would get back to the one who originally "made" the fake and he's stuck with the bill? If he's still alive....

In the scenario I described, the person who created the fake car had died. There was literally nobody left to sue....and it wouldn't have mattered much, the profit was long gone spent....

Marlin, in Canada the debt would stay forever with a court judgement. So even if the $$$ were spent, you can put a lien against there house. NOTHING can happen with there house now until lien is cleared. Suck but at least there is a small pot bat the end of the rainbow at least.
