Default '67 Firebird 400/4-sp Convertible

As poorly as this car is described by the selling dealer, I watched the video linked to the auction and the car looks incredibly solid. Might not be a bad deal around $20-25k if you can confirm the engine is the original.

Looks like most of the original stuff is on the car. Unusual to see one of these that retained it's original air cleaner all these years and didn't get a spoiler slapped on the decklid

Agree, looks like a GOOD car that's worthy of an in-person inspection!

I don't get that either, that being said, it looks to have all of it's 400 specific parts.

I requested a photo of the trim tag several days ago... no reply.

I'm trying to learn more about the 1967-69 Firebird 400 cars. Can you elaborate?

Certainly not an expert but I can speak more to 67/68' than 69's. Some of this is pulled from 400 package option list and some items aren't spelled out in the list. Some of this is obvious but...

1) 400 CID engine 325 HP
2) Special 400 badging
3) Lower baffle (on lower valance)
4) Upper baffles (on radiator support)
5) Heavy duty floor shift three-speed
6) Twin (non-functional) scoops on hood
7) Heavy duty springs
8) E70-14 wide-oval, either white or red stripe tires
9) Chrome air cleaner, rocker covers and oil filler cap.
10) Dual exhaust
11) Declutching engine fan
12) Heavy duty battery
13) Heavy duty starter motor
14) Heavy duty radiator
15) Special grill treatment/trim (Hockey Stick bar)
16) traction arms on RH & LH axle tubes (base 400 is MT if optional TH400 ordered only RH traction arm).

If anybody can add or subtract from list this, please do!

This car looks like it was ordered with Custom Trim. While trim tag info on a 67 is important, get PHS docs for the car (I know you know this).

HTH.

I was looking for more specific correlations to this car, as to what specifically makes it look authentic?

Yeah, I see the hood and 400 badging of course. I take it that's the correct air cleaner, rocker covers and oil filler cap. The 400 specific grille is good to know. Thanks
