I owned it years ago and I think it had 21 miles at the time. It was still on the MSO. Was a drag car before resto. Great car.

Was this the car that was introduced at the Camaro Nationals in Detroit after restoration (early 90s)? I recall an HO ZL1 in the display area there. Every milled surface in the block was re-milled during resto so that the engine looked like new - same car?

Here's Charley & Colin as he sells that ZL-1 for 800K @ Mecum St. Charles here back in 2005.Watch for Colin to drop the reserve..
Skip most of the BS and start this @ the 14:00 mark.

Wow - so in 12 years the value of that ZL1 Camaro has dropped from $800K to $550K.

Just a quick search of Mecum show this car has been at auction a number of times:

Indy 2017: $550,000 no sale
Indy 2016: $600,000 no sale
Kissi 2016: $600,000 no sale

StCh 2005: $800,000 sold

You have to factor in one major detail within those 12 years though.
The economy beginning to collapse in 2008,when prices all basically resetting to pre 2000 prices afterwards.

The car in post #1 was at Kissimmee 2016 where it was a no sale at $625,000

As a matter of fact Mecum hasn't actually sold a ZL1 Camaro since Chicago 2013 when car #23 sold for $500,000

IMO the 1969 ZL1 Camaro just hasn't "bounced back" in price from the Great Recession as other rare muscle cars have.
