Default 1970-1971 Z28 shifter handle

Either one of these with decent chrome. Thanks in advance.

No, the Trans Am is different, 7244 is the number and has much more of a curve towards the driver in it.

Are ya sure? non console birds use the same shifter..sometime in early 71 (very early, maybe the second month of production..maybe earlier) the one with the big hook replaced it for all...ive owned a couple orig cars with shifters like above..long thread

this is a pic i snagged from Nasty Z28..they are usually good with info...

i believe the long thread is unique to birds..it needs all the thread for the long plastic knob..Z28s the knob is round, and doesnt need all the threads..ive had dozens of each...

First one is possibly the one I'm talking about, yes. I'm used to the Firebird curving over towards the driver slightly, then more aggressively as the 1970's went on. Sister cars in the same plants could get each others shifters for sure, by mistake. Pretty popular 1970 Firebird ad below, along with straighter stick 1970 Z28 Hurst.
