Sway bar out, three shims per side.

A few questions on Classic Olds about sway bar bolts, I will de-rust these to see the markings.

Sway bar measures 0.875"

Done for the day:-)

I am whipped!! (I love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!)

Ryan

Next steps, remove the final items off the frame, like lines, and engine mounts. Then disassemble the front brakes, then the whole rear end assembly for blasting......

Some of those front end parts got lots of grease crud on them and is time consuming to clean up. If you have a connection with a transmission shop they usually have a large parts washer like an oversize dishwasher. It does an amazing job of cleaning parts real fast. Might be worth a shot to save you a lot of time. Your powder costing shop may have the same equipment, check around.

Thanks Paul!!

I will check, I need a good way to clean items. (steering items will be replaced but need to know what markings were present)

PS: Did you look at my 71 seat belts? Trade for 69 seat belts?

"Nick
BTW, I scored that set of the bolt type shift shafts for your trans. Now it is complete and ready to be “exercised”. I’ll be happy to set up the shifter once you sort out which one you want to use."

We are looking at various shifters, I got a great deal on a Competition Plus but a console model, not sure if it can be converted..... researching.....I want the stock stiff up top, handle, ball, and boot, and opening in the floor, but want an industrial mechanism below to help me learn to find third:-)

Hi Ryan, Looks like your frame is close to needing to be moved to the sandblaster or powder coater.

Hi Terry, great to meet and great today, Thanks for the Tim Hortons!!!

We will have to share some pictures of your "Ramblers" you would be surprised what Yenko fans like...... even Oldsmobiles:-)

Thanks again for the offer to cart my frame around. (Terry even offered that if there are hidden issues that arise after sandblasting he will bring the frame back home again so I can fix/weld any areas needing it)

Ryan

Jamie and I got a great day of disassembly in today!!

Ryan

We pulled the engine mounts off the frame.

we removed the front brake lines, and distribution block, I found the original bracket, it was bent and used under the block with one bolt of the Z bar bracket.

Took the back drive bracket off

Removed the transmission cross member
