I've had Jerry M do 3 of my Chevelles and I wouldn't do it any other way. I tried them all, and was always touching up, or completely removing them, sand blasting, re-painting, etc. Since I discovered the re-skinning process, I've never had to redo any of them. I have the smog systems/tubes on the cars, and the last thing I want to do is redo manifolds.

CHEVROLET ORANGE if it's a BB. I have them ceramic coated grey, then CI grey paint, then Chev orange. When the orange burns off the lower portions you have a near perfect orig look. See attached LS6 photo and Z16 photo down the page here: http://www.z16chevelle.com/restoration%20photos.htm

Exhaust manifolds were installed BEFORE engine paint on big blocks. This is proven by several low mile orig paint engines (cars) I've owned and numerous I've seen as well as several color factory photos. Also shows in 60s assy line photos and assy sequence descriptions. Sorry grey guys......

Any different thoughts on Exhaust Manifold coatings for over restored show cars in 2022....

I believe the well know shop that "reskins" exhaust manifolds is having them FLAME SPRAYED with.......................

Aluminum– Extremely durable coating that provides total corrosion protection and significant life improvement over conventional barrier coatings...........
And Then Top Coating with VHT Aerosol Paint for the correct Cosmetic "LOOK"

A customer told (on a forum) of how he received a can of VHT paint in the box upon
the return of his "Reskinned" Manifolds.....

I had Jerry M. “Reskin” mine back in 2004. As stated above a can of VHT paint came with them and instructions to spray them and heat them to 600 degrees for a period of time, don’t remember the time.
My friend had an old cooking oven in his shop so we used it turned up as high as it would go which was about 450. My manifolds to this day look great. I would recommend Jerry’s work.

Anyone,
1) Know the current cost of having a pair of exhaust manifolds "Reskinned"
or other wise Arc Sprayed (Electricity) or Flame Sprayed (Oxy/Acetelyne)

2) Ive read about VHT 1200 degree cast blast & POR15 has a Cast Looking Product
Which one has the closest look to original Cast Iron ?????
