Meeting up with my daughter-in-law tomorrow north of Atlanta to take the grandkids back to Michigan with us. They live in Cape Coral which was hit really hard as well. My son who’s in law enforcement in the Cape is working 12 hour shifts, seven days a week until further notice. He’s hearing they may have to rebuild the power grid so no power or running water. They are also saying school may not restart until Jan 1st.

I don't think anybody realized how bad it was going to be. I probably would have done the same thing by leaving the 2 cars on the lifts in thinking they would be ok.

That is exactly correct. Almost all of the models were taking the storm further up the coast to or past Tampa, which is ~150 miles north of Naples. Plus, no one expected the storm surge to be nearly as high as it was. I've been here almost 25 years and there hasn't been another storm with any kind of surge remotely like this one from Ian.

Between the fires here in CA.. to the hurricanes in FL... to the tornados in the midwest over the last few years. A lot of very nice and rare classic cars have been destroyed.

Chevrolet built 20,302 1969 Z/28s. Wanna bet there are at least 40,000 on the road today? Last edited by Lee Stewart; 10-05-2022 at 01:33 AM. |
