Default Caveat Emptor...tag swap?

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...maro-z-28-121/

124379N561607

N561607 was final assembled on or about December 16, 1968. Has an 09C body tag 3rd week September 1969. That and the hex head screws used to fasten the tag tell me the tag is not original to the car.

Looks like the tag was torqued with an impact driver! And shame on BAT for continually calling these made up cars by model names they clearly did not start life as.

Think that’s an early 1970s Cutlass wheel.

You guys are doing good work in that BAT comments section to tactfully educate the seller and warn buyers.

Hard to believe after 20+ years of ownership, the Seller is so uneducated in even the very basics of his car, but what else explains trying to sell on BAT as a legit Z-28? It's a nice looking driver and anyone on BAT that purchases it surely is informed at this point of the issues with the pedigree.

I'd pay 30k for it as a grocery getter, but that about it.

Bid to 50k and didn't hit reserve.

I'm surprised it bid that high.
