Default Tire question

So my 69 RS Camaro is a factory rally wheel car. This is a 307 car. What do you think would have been the tires white stripe or white letter?
Car is code 50 Dover white with black houndstooth gut.

Your car would've came with E78-14 black wall tires with an option for white walls. White walls were popular then. Of the 243,085 Camaros built it look like 138,160 had some sort of white/red pinstriped tire or white walls. I see no option for white lettered tire in that size for 1969. I got this information from Camaro Research Group in the option section...Joe

Hi Chris I found some vintage ads for the 1969 Camaro
model year and it appears that one photo does show that
the car is equipped with Firestone RWL Wide Oval F70-14's.
Not sure if it matters but all 3 pics are non high-performance
cars. The convertible has what looks to be a 3/4" or 1" white
stripe with steel wheels and wheel covers. I understand that
you have factory rally rims but in my opinion both these tires
would look good on any wheel (steelie or rally). Good luck.

Sal

Were any 69 Camaros actually delivered with Firestone Wide Ovals? I have 5 F-70-15 that still have the stickers on them. After I bought them, I thought it was determined that Wide Ovals never came on 69 Camaros, so I never put them on my car.

F70 x 14 yes; F70 x 15 no.

Originals were small RWL; all current repros are incorrect.
