Yes, I see now the Mecum auction qualifies the Sunfire car as "The only Duntov and Triple Diamond-awarded 1967 Corvette L88 still equipped with its original engine..."

When asked why he didn't stamp the vin he said "if I do that it not only raises questions about this car but every other car I have owned or will own" I wish more people had those values. This is a Photo of my Benchmark 1967 Lynndale Blue car along side this 12 Mile (at the time) 1967 L-88 At Bloomington Gold back in I believe 1993. It still had a partial window sticker on the passenger window, and a very poorly adjusted door from the factory that was not corrected at that point. Bill

----Bill,,, I know this 12 mile car well. The 12 mile car had black interior, and the engine was lost so another 67 L-88 engine was installed. Dave B of BG fame did most of the freshening up after it left Jerome Shinkays ownership. I believe that the red on red L88 pictured was a Chicago area car that was drag raced. Can't remember the OO's name at the moment.....Bill S

Bill, I did not know that there are (2) Red 1967 L-88 Coupes with out their original engines. My mistake with confusing this 12,000 mile Red interior car with the 12 Mile David Burroughs owned Black interior car I showed next to at BG 1993. That's the year your Wife Jan made me all those white BENCHMARK Polo Shirts. My apologies. Never saw an L-88 I didn't like, Love Both cars though. Bill

I am lucky enough to know the owner of the 12 mile coupe. It looks like it did as Big Block Bill describes. The original paint and interior are as new.

----Absolutely no problem,Bill. I do remember those polo shirts. Jan did such an awesome job (with a bit of help) on all the stuff we sold at Bloomington Gold. She took such care of every design to make sure they resonated with our customers. I'm immensely proud of what she accomplished over the twenty year period we supplied all the BG logoed stuff!!!....Bill S...and my partner Jan!!!
