"The alternator is a Delco Remy 20DN. I have a 55 gallon drum full of them. Some refer to them as a perforated case alternator."

I considered removing the alternator because I think it looks a little to much like the motor off of an old Maytag ringer washer. I decided to leave it because the old guys that understand them seem to appreciate it. I have only seen them in the past on police cars, taxi cabs and once on a fire chiefs 409 wagon.
