Default Master key

It didn’t take much to unlock the hardtop and convertible cars. Just a coat hanger.
I actually made my custom user friendly unlocking device.

So I was out messing in the shop today and going through some of my old tools and found one of my favorites. I had to use this several times “legally” back in the 70’s-80’s.
I knew my ‘66 had a few scars in the LH 1/4 glass vertical chrome (that someone else did) ….. and it looks like on frequent occasions from the deep grooves ….. weird.

Also took a few interior photos of the OEM Red. Amazing how it held up with over 120,000 mile use.

My '65 GTO has marks in that area, too.

Dad said on occasion he would come out of work to find the car parked in a different spot with all the gas burned out of it.

----Chris,,, Would you replace that window moulding if you could? Just wondering. And,,,What an interior, especially with those kind of miles. The owner must not have been a 100lbs!....Bill S

Thanks Mr. Bill W.

Question on your 66-67 SS cars.
Are your Original door lock knobs plastic or metal.

All the factory knobs on 65,66,67 GTO’s were always plastic.
Some seem to think they were chromed metal knobs.
In 1967 the top of the knob was a little larger.

I'm guilty of using the "coat hanger key" a few times myself, it always worked. Love that gorgeous red interior, I can smell it from here!

Hah. I can still open my Foxbody 5.0 with a coat hanger.
