Just 19 percent of 15- to 17-year-olds had jobs in 2018, compared with almost half in 1968, according to a Pew Research Center study published in November. It wasn’t much better for 18- to 21-year-olds: In 2018, 58 percent had been employed in the previous year, down from 80 percent in 1968, Pew says. |

I was wiring my back barn for 220V service around the same time we were given electronic pagers.
Every so often hooking up the 110V wiring I would get a little shock and, of course the natural response is to let out a little shout "Whoo!" Being in a lot of meetings, I had set my pager to vibrate so that it would not disrupt the meeting by going off. The only problem was that it felt to me like I was getting a little shock, so every time my pager went off I would go "Whoo!", even during the meeting. Finally, after three or four times of this happening, the guys in the room were like "Seymore, we sure are glad you put your pager on vibrate so it would not be disruptive".
