Default ZL1@ Russo & Steele Auction

Looking at this months Hemmings, #38 Zl1 and a '69 Yenko Camaro to be auctioned at the other auction in Phoenix. Also, '67 L88 Corvette roadster and '70 Hemi Cuda with 20k miles. Anybody been to this auction? Anyone going this year? Any info on the 2 Camaros to be sold? Sounds like an interesting auction, evenings Fri & Sat. Bidders credentials are free until 12/15. Charley, looks like a place to restock!!

If you can tell me where and when the auction is, I can go and see what they sell for. I live in the Phoenix area, and would be interested in attending anyway. Thanks.

The auction is 1/18 & 1/19 at Scottsdale Road and Mayo Blvd in Scottsdale. It is the same time frame as the Barrett Jackson Auction. We are going to Barrett Jackson and thought about checking this out.

I was planning on Barrett Jackson also! Prices are way out of my league, but I love to go and see what they get across the block. The other thing to do is check the classified ads the week of both auctions. It is amazing to see the number of muscle cars that come out in the paper around then. Best bet for the classifieds is the Arizona Republic. Which days were you going to be at Barrett Jackson?

In 1982 the #38 ZL1 was a daily driver. It was in Milwaukee and had been towed to a auto repair shop with a dead battery. It was sort of for sale but I thought the $2500 asking price was a bit steep.

Talk about the one that got away...

No, had sb. Just a car that had been driven daily for 13 years and looked it. Had Kentucky tags I believe. I think the radiator, trans & rear axle were OE at the time. Cunneen's brother in law bought it shortly after that. OE motor has been located, don't know if it is in the car.

This was about 1 year after I left the remains of a gold Yenko Camaro in the yard at Schmidt's Auto Salvage in Waunaukee, WI. I was on a roll.
