Hey Steve, no, this won’t be used on the 507. The 507’s classic will be a combination of a Mercedes R107 and part custom to mimic the original 507’s chassis. This will just be a quick thrown together fun-car to enjoy! I’ll be posting up a build thread on it as it approaches delivery. Cheers Dave |

What do you have in mind for the drivetrain ? That Coyote that John installed is huge in there and plenty easy to get sideways with...

After reading the whole thread and looking at what pictures I could see, I'd suggest ceramic coating the headers to keep the heat from overwhelming the driver and passenger. Other than that, I'd say John D did his project quite well.

On the cruise last Saturday, he said the scoop helped a LOT with pushing the hot air out the side vents and with the body permanently mounted and sealed better, the intrusion of hot air from the engine compartment has been reduced significantly. He wasn't looking forward to polishing the discoloration off the sidepipes later that day, but I'm certain he did. He's rather anal, as you may have noticed from the build...

Dave, you will love the Cobra. There are some good Cobra sites around including the Texas Cobra Club. I go to the dark side, also with my Kirkham Cobra. I've had four Kirkham built Cobras and the replicas are a blast
