Neat 65 Corvette 396 coupe on BaT
Looks like a pretty honest car - never restored.

----Nice honest 396! I see some minor repaired damage in the nose, but it doesn't make me like the car any less unless there's more I can't see in the pics. Love the options. Several other small things. The antenna is not the original antenna as the original would not have retracted all the way to the chrome bezel, but that's still no biggy. To go back and do over the affected areas around the headlights would require getting the woven glass out of there as the woven pattern will always come back after time. That would be the most problematic point to the car, but could be done by a good mostly Corvette resto shop. As always, get professional help if interested, but with that said, I really like the car!.....Bill S

I remember the car on eBay a couple of years ago. Not sure if this is the same owner. At the time, I could not get pics of the deck. I thought I remember a price of around 70k. Some of the pics are the same from the eBay ad.
Now that there are detailed photos, I agree with Bill. This looks to be a good car! Tim |

My father in law bought the exact car, color, and motor in 1965. He drove the car the first week of ownership with his wife out to the Grand Canyon. He said it was a hot car with 4:11. He was constantly stopping for fuel. He started out in New Jersey. He had to buy a couple of gas cans to keep in the back. There is a video of him,his wife and a black bear climbing on the car at the Grand Canyon. It’s cool to see it from 55 years ago.
