This imposter black Dana Camaro was delivered new to Brown & Hoeye Chevrolet in Mesa, AZ and was a fawn beige 327 automatic with a gold standard interior per the cowl tag. The original real Dana DC1 Camaro was a black SS with black standard interior and a manual trans. Numerous other details also throw cold water on the guy's claim.
Thanks, so was there originally a black SS DC1 car, and they are trying to claim that this car is that car?

the article is making two claims. One is that the car is the black 67 Dana Camaro and they also claim it is the old Gary Dodd pro stock Camaro. The Dodd car was said to be a 427 Dana Camaro. It was in an old magazine that the Dodd car was the old Dana Camaro.

Yes, they're trying to say that Dana Chevrolet who could order any car exactly like they wanted to went and got a car from a neighboring state that was painted a different color, had a different color interior, no manual transmission, no 12-bolt and changed it all to appear to be a black on black SS. The original Dana DC-1 did not have the Z21 style trim package with chrome roof drip and wheel well molding but the cowl tag on the fake DC-1 car shows that car did come with Z21 when new. There is no credible explanation to believe this would be true.

It seems like all the recent FB posts about the car are gone....

It is still on FB. Here is a screen shot from a dealer who says they will have it for sale.

Here is some research I did on this car .

There was an old article that said the Gary Dodd Camaro was "the old Dana Camaro" but it is not clear if it was the #1 black Dana Camaro drag car. Maybe it was the other blue Dana Camaro drag car with Nordskog sponsorship (I posted a pic of it earlier)

A search on "Nordskog" showed a company that sold 240 Z/V8 conversion kits and was based in California

Looks like Gary converted his 67 to a 1968 Camaro for 1970 Pro Stock.
NHRA 1970 Pro Stock rule stated the car must be 1968 and newer models.

If that is a dealer write up, it reads like a foreign scam. Poor use of words, punctuation and spelling. Classic hallmarks.

TEK410 shows up in '68 on two other totally different cars so I would not count on it being the actual plate used on one of those Dana 427s.
