Choke question
I have a Gen VI 454/425 crate motor in my Chevelle - it came with a modern version of the 163 aluminum intake (I painted it orange).
When I originally installed this I used a speed shop Holley with an electric choke. As part of a clean up and update project I am now installing a more appropriate Holley (4492) with a conventional choke. The issue I am having is that the standard issue GM choke assembly does not fit the pre-machined location on the intake - am I missing something obvious or are there other options for this? Quick internet search did not reveal anything other than what I already have. Thanks in advance. |

----That looks exactly the same as Jan's 66 427/390 horse choke pad. Try one from Long Island Corvette. Pretty sure they aren't big bucks.....Bill S

Is the size close enough to whittle it out with a Dremel and get it to drop in ?

Thanks Bill - after doing some more digging today I agree it looks like the choke mount is identical to the factory intakes, need to figure out what I have for choke parts now.

Is that a "Zeus" intake?

I ordered what I am hoping is the correct one last night from Long Island - thanks.

Not sure what a "Zeus" intake is. This one is a relatively modern GM aluminum intake similar to the "163" intakes for L72 and L78 cars that is used on the crate motors.
