Default NOS Kustom Headers (Flint, MI), 55-57 Chevy

Here is a mint set of NOS Kustom headers, pre-1970 based on the numbering system. Calling these hard to find would be an understatement. Great look for a period correct hot rod, Junior Stocker, or whatever else you're building that deserves original 1960s speed parts. $550, free delivery to MCACN.

I'm pretty sure the original building still stands on Richfield Rd.

I think this is it: Southwest corner of Richfield and Belsay Rds.

The headers they offered for '65/66/67 GTOs were patterned after the ones on our car.

That’s it!

Boy would I love to find a set of Kustom headers for my 67 GTO. I have the next best thing, a set of NOS JR headers, but I’m not sure they will work with my power steering. That will have to be one of my winter projects….

Still available - I'll listen to a good offer. At the risk of stating the obvious, this is probably the only opportunity you'll get to have a NOS set of Kustom headers for your '55-57. I know I'd be keeping them if I had one of these to build.

50 years ago, I spent many hours and many dollars in that building. I would save money for months to buy my parts from them, although I had a"line of credit" with them. I still live about two miles from there. Seen a LOT of nice stuff go through that building in all the time Kustom was there.

My dad worked 2nd shift during my formative years.

All summer I'd ride around with him while he ran his errands: over to city hall to pay the water bill, then over to Consumer's to pay the electric bill. Those rides would usually include a stop at Kustom, or "Automotive Parts & Machine Shop" on Davison Rd, or General Bolt, or Richfield Iron Works, either to check the progress on something or pick up additional parts. (Maybe if I was lucky a stop at the A&W on Richfield Road!).

Right before I retired I was making the rounds, visiting my suppliers and was shooting the bull with one of the secretaries. It hit me at that point: "oh my gosh - I've morphed into my Dad!!".

This little house was on Thom Street, between Averill and Leith.

Dad built that garage himself.
