Teal Turquoise 1965 GTO
This color (Teal) has always been at the top of my want list. Awesome rich color when new.
This car was for sale a few years back, but I can’t recall where I saw it, plus there wasn’t much information on it. I remember they were asking a lot of money for it. From the photos I saved it looks to be a legitimate Survivor. 01D Baltimore built. Original paint LL Teal Turquoise with a White pinstripe. 218 Parchment interior. I would love to see the PHS etc. on this car. Here is what I see from the dusty photos. Tri-Power, 4 speed. HD 4 core radiator. HD fan with the notched blades. Early round head aluminum rivets (small clutch ?) The above notched blade indicates a possible 3.90 gears. Rally gauges. Wood steering wheel. AM radio. 2 speed wipers with dated wiper motor. Outside rear view mirror. Back up lamps. Correct numbered upper radiator hose. Dated (4-Q-64) plug wires. All three carb tags. Early firewall wire harness clips, full metal, not rubber dipped. Possible custom wheel disc shown in trunk. Hopefully someone recognizes this car.

I too am partial to the colour. Mine is Teal Turquoise, Cameo Ivory top, Turquoise interior. Got it from the nephew of original owner. All original except for one repaint in 1976.

Chris, I remember that car and photos from Facebook when put up for sale. It had a neat story behind it too, but don't recall what it was. I'll see if I can find it again.

A few close up photos showing the Originality on this ‘65.
Unable to see the mileage in the wood wheel photo, but the clutch/brake pedals have been used. Wheel looks very nice. M4 carb tag. All the upper and lower radiator hoses came with yellow ink (not white ink) from the factory. Also this car still has it’s Original heater hose with the cluster of 3 molded lines. Dimpled seam on AC oil fill cap. Letter “D” on the valve cover bolts (BAL built). Plug wire separator. The humps on the 389 valve covers are always opposite. This GTO has the LH cover backwards.

On the topic of the 1965 Optional Custom Sports Steering Wheel …. Isn’t.
Love the advertising from the 1965 Pontiac consumer catalog on this steering wheel. They may be alluding to the 65-66 Teakwood steering wheel (last 2 photos) that could splinter badly in an accident. Catalog shows a tilt steering column and rally gauges. Check out those pedals!

I believe that is why the teakwood wheel was discontinued after 66. I just love a nice original teakwood wheel in a 65-66
