Sam,

It's not that GS just did some work on the car.....if that was the case, it would cause no suspicion. Look at the owner's reply above....he says the car "came from Grand Spaulding Dodge". Most Mopar-savvy people realize that GS was a Dodge dealer only. Getting people to buy into the idea that a Plymouth was sold new there is going to be tough, and with all the bogus and/or repro paperwork floating around in the collector car hobby these days, IMO many people are going to be suspicious.

Yeah, I noticed his choice of words which is obviously misleading. I guess i am giving him the benefit of the doubt and would pass judgement on the voracity of this ad based on reviewing his “proof”

If someone was trying to sell a clone as an authentic GS car, don't you think he would have started with a Dart?

This is the same as Joel Rosen working on Buicks. I have info on a 340-6 Plymouth Cricket from Mr. Norms as well.

If a paying customer walked into Norm's asking for a Plymouth, you can bet he'd sell them one.

He had a Dodge Franchise, he couldn't order a Plymouth. He could do some horse trading to get one from another dealer, but he couldn't order one. What it could be is a 68 440 GSS conversion done on the lightweight Valiant post car body. Also it has a lot wrong on it for being a "restored" car. Since in 1968 there was no 440 big blocks from the factory, not until 1969. Norm, and a few other special dealerships were the only ones putting 440s in A-bodies.
