does anyone know if the original L78 engines that were taken out by motion, yenko and other dealers ever were recovered and found by the car owners?

Isnt there a 68 Yenko Camaro that had a 427 and later the 396 showed up and the owner put that one in instead

Very good question. I wonder how they figured the price with an engine swap. And if those 396 engines were sold to other customers.

I was in college in Pittsburgh in the late 60's, and there was always an ad in the Sunday Pittsburgh Press, with engines, short blocks and wheels/tires for sale. (maybe other stuff aswell, I don't remember) In the pre-COPO period, Yenko was trying to recoup as much of the conversion costs as he coulld, as quickly as he could.
