Positioning Jacks

I was looking at car "positioning" jacks, wheel dollies, etc. Something setup like these:



I was wondering if the crowd had any recommendations, brands, things to avoid/consider/watch-out for. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but at the same time I don't want to cheap out. There seems to be a good amount available. I just don't know how good any of them are. The foot pump setup is handy since I'm up close to a wall on one side. Thoughts??

I've had a set of Go Jacks for over 30 years and use them regularly. They are amazing and never fail me. I got the widest ones you can get, and they have come in handy when moving a car with wide tires. I never thought I'd use a set that wide, but all of a sudden you get a car with monster wide tires like my Cobra, and they are necessary.

Pretty simple. The cheap inexpensive ones from say Harbor Freight will get the job done but have limitations, adjustability, what surfaces they can roll on, effort to move, etc while the best on the market like GoJaks are, although very expensive, are miles ahead of the HF ones. With the HF type you have to jack the car up and set them on the dollies whereas the GoJaks you simply place them around the tires and raise the car up onto the jacks with a simple operation of the pedal so no need to bring a floor jack or other means of raising the car with you. I can move a car around in my shop with ease by myself with the GoJaks whereas the HF ones take at least two people and do not always move in the direction you are trying to push them in. Simply put, if you intend to use them a lot, buy the GoJaks. If only temporary and usually in a straight line then use the HF ones.

I actually have both in my shop and use the HF ones if I simply want to move a car back and forth in a relatively straight line and store the car on them. I use the GoJak when I want to spin a car say 180* or move it sideways or even out into the parking lot.

For this example I have used the cheapest and the most expensive.

GoJacks! Like Tim said… don’t buy cheaply made off brand. To save a buck maybe look on FB Marketplace?

had a set of go jacks since 2000 - spin a car by myself, other types struggle to do this....

at the time year 2000 i bought them thru JC Whitney catalog....600.00 :-)

Looks like there are different versions of the go-jack with corresponding variations in pricing. Which ones are people using?

i have never seen this style - however never really looked either

mine has just one roller on each side - the ones shown has the 2 little ones on each side.

maybe they are easier to load, but either way u need to pump the arm with your foot to elevate the tire. Sorry cannot comment on the ease of use with this style. I also got the go jack storage rack, helps keep them off the floor and easy to move around.

quick search - walmart has the style i have purchased.....

Same goes for me. I have owned mine for 15 years.
