What was the break down on stripe colors for the GOLD cars?

They are all X66 cars so they are all black tails and trimmed with side louvers and bright vertical tail lamp trim...

It was always understood that only 2 cars came with white stripes....the Mel Bogus demo car now in the Albaugh collection and the Test Mule driven by Ed Hedrick now owned by Cliff Ernst . Until recently when I removed the paint off the front return edge of my doors on both passenger and driver sides and revealed that my gold Yenko car had white stripes originally as well. I have been told there is 6 or 7 cars remaining of the 10 produced.

Regarding white stripes on the demo car. I can not tell you what color they were when Mel left Canonsburg, but when the car was sold from Van Chevrolet in the summer of '69, it had black hood stripes and NO side stripes. I talked with JS when SCW restored the car for BC. I described damage to the rt front fender that happened around Dec of '69. JS confirmed that a repair had been made matching my description, but that fender was a replacement not assembly line. I believe that the fender was replaced before being sold by Van and that is why there were no side stripes.

Good information. Thank you for sharing. If the car sold from Van in the summer of 69 with no side stripes ... ( probably due to the fender bender) ...but then you say the damage occurred December 69 . It is a 01B build. Sorry for the confusion...I am just trying to follow your timeline. Thanks

Sorry for the confusion. The fender that was damaged around Dec '69 stayed with the car until the SCW restoration. At that time JS found the repair for the damage I described, but informed me that the damage I described had happened to a replacement fender. This means the fender I saw damaged had been replaced prior to the purchase in the summer of '69. Some unknown damage caused the fender to be replaced prior to the summer '69 purchase..... thus no side stripes when purchased.
