Default Unauthorized use of Supercars' Website

Saw this:

Bogus eBay use of Supercars' website for pictures

Clearly a guy in Tulsa shouldn't be using pictures of Kevin's cars of his website to sell parts!! Even worse that he doesn't show the hood that's for sale, just Kevin's cars.

I agree, bogus misrepresentation.Unless Kevin gave him authorization to do so??
Even then it does not seem fair.

The seller doesn't have permission to use the pictures. I emailed him, asking not to do so in the future. He seemed understanding.

You would be surprised at how often this happens. I can name a dozen sites that have pirated photos and/or text from us. Ever once in a while some one will ask permission, but not often. A couple of times we have contacted them when used wrong, and you would not believe how they respond. They think WE are in the wrong!

It is happening all over our hobby. How many different people are reproducing and selling stickers, t-shirts, photos and even emblems related to the supercar dealers, without getting permission from the person who owns the rights to them? There are laws against it, but it can get expensive to go after them. It is a shame that we have people like that in our hobby.

When people have asked permission in the past to use photos from Kevin's website, they were told it was okay to do so for non-commercial means.

And very well done at that. And, by the way, thanks. Tom
