I had heard of an original owner 68 L-78 nearby for years, but never confirmed the story and do not ever remember ever seeing the car from my childhood.
Late last year at a local cruise night there was an old vette, maybe 59?, that was basically a racecar. Had huge tires, full cage, Big block. Neat car for the street I thought. My freind introduced me to the owner and my friend knows that I am a camaro guy, mentioned that the owner of the vette also owned a 68 Big block camaro. Turns out it's that 68 L-78 Camaro that i always heard about.. He bought it new in Morrisville, Pa. As he put it, he chose the 'Purple color with L-78 option'. He raced it a locally on the street years ago. He said he changed a few things from original. mentioned it has aluminum heads. Said he still has it in his garage along with original paint along with some other cars, but he has not had it on the road in many years. He told me to call him in the Spring if I wanted to stop by and see it.

When I saw the post about Bucks County, I thought it must be the same car..... but there are a few still out there !!!
