Default 67 SS 350 Camaro, Hot Rod Snags this in June 1966

I ran across this article originally published in Sept 1967, by Jim McFarland for Hot Rod. The picture is with Bill Schmidt a Temple City Junior High School shop teacher with his students and brings me back in time.

This car was used as a testing mule for 16 aftermarket companies such as : Hooker, Schiefer, Edelbrock, Hurst and a host of others to test fit parts. Notice the aftermarket wheels and hood already installed. Bill Thomas transplanted big block in it and broke into the 11's. Quite a significant 67 Camaro... A big thanks to Drew Hardin for featuring this archived article!!!

What a cool article! Is the car known to exist today?

Yep, I believe it’s owned by Edelbrock these days.

I remember reading all about that '67 in HR BITD. The one time they put a chute on it for a photo session and when they pulled it after a run it pulled the entire car sideways. The guys on the starting line said they could read the "Hot Rod" sign on the side of the car. They must have fastened the chute on one side of the axle or something.
