Auto or 4 speed? There are different configurations, and bolt pattern types.

Should take the aluminum starter cap. Is this a 1108430 starter?

If you have the build sheet it will show which starter was installed. I believe the 430 starter was not used until 1970. I,m currently looking for a 430 for an early 70 chevelle and not having any luck.

it has a 430, but I think a 418 is correct for a Feb. 69 L78 turbo 400

Donnie if you are in need of an aluminum nose housing just shoot me a PM. Have a used GM part# 1968122 nosepiece. I have plenty pics/no issues.

Thanks,
Sal

Could the 1107365 be on the 69 396 TH400? Any help out there to clear this up?

That starter looks up as a lester number 3560 and should have a cast iron housing. The Delco book says that the 69 396 takes a 1108418 which is identical to the 1107365. Auto or manual the 1969 396 uses the same starter.

Thank you for the update. 1108418 with a cast iron housing. had some information on it being the 430 starter. I am assuming the late 68 build on the nova would have the 1108418 then. Assuming that the 1107365 would only be on 68 and prior.
